Noteworthy Tips for a Chilled-Out Holiday Season

Everyone always remarks that the holidays can be an extremely stressful time of the year. We get it - all the distant family members flying in, parties, dinners, buying gifts, and trying to hit those year-end goals at work can be a lot to handle. How do you make time for it all without drowning in overwhelm? Thankfully, with a little help from our CBD, you can smoothly sail (or ski?) your way through the holiday season. Keep reading to learn how to stay chilled and mindful:

Veg at your favorite outdoor spot.

Sometimes all you need to relax is alone time in the outdoors with a solid view. TIME Magazine says that “spending just 20 minutes in a park is enough to improve well-being.” We’re out in Boulder, so we love venturing up to Flagstaff Mountain, hanging a hammock, and checking out the view of the Rockies in front of us. Spending some time outside is a great way to breathe in the fresh air and get grounded, no matter if it’s 20 degrees or 100 where you are.

Get some quality literature in

Ever heard of bibliotherapy? This is a very broad term for the ancient practice of encouraging reading for therapeutic effects. Even if it’s just for 15 minutes, reading can do wonders for your mind and well-being. Go on and brush the dust off that book you started reading 6 months ago and get lost in the pages. During hectic and stressful times, it can be beneficial to take some time for you and think about something else for a while. While it may seem stressful to put a pause on the to-do list, we promise your mind will thank you.

Unwind with some plant-based CBD Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Whoever said you couldn't have chocolate if you're plant based is a serious fool, and we're proving them wrong with this festive Peppermint Hot Chocolate. Packed with a chocolate, marshmallows and a serving of our CBD powder, we absolutely think it tastes better than the original.

INGREDIENTS:

2-4 scoops of Barista Blend

1 1/2 cups almond milk

4 oz plant-based chocolate

2-3 tbsp maple syrup

pinch of salt

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

2-3 drops peppermint extract

plant-based marshmallows & candy cane for topping

INSTRUCTIONS:

Add the almond milk and chocolate to a small pot on medium heat, mixing until everything is melted and combined. Add the maple syrup, salt, vanilla extract and peppermint oil and mix until everything is well combined. Pour the beverage into 4 mugs over 1 scoop of Barista Blend per mug and stir. Serve with marshmallows and a candy cane!
